IP Ratings: Built to Survive, Built to Trust
Touchless controls receive their day’s worth of rough handling—rain, humidities, chemicals, and the odd intentional messing about here and there. That’s when Ingress Protection (IP) Ratings come into play.
At Fontana, IP ratings are our design team’s top priority for fixture reliability and protection against safety threats. Our fixtures are always IP65 and higher, i.e., tightly sealed to keep dust away and protected against high-pressure water explosion. Why? So our products can operate dependably in public lavatories, sports arenas, hospitals, schools, and park facilities—places where reliability is not an optional plus but a mission-critical necessity.
Whatever it is, a sensor faucet over a sink, or an auto-flush valve on a urinal in a tile wall, our engineers locate each possible point of exposure. Seals and gaskets are specified, the housing and coating materials are established to exceed or meet environmental requirements.

Flow Rates: Sustainability Without Compromise in Performance
Conserving water is not trendy—it’s necessary. Fontana fittings are designed with the vision of offering the ideal combination of performance and environmentally-friendliness, highest flow rates per application.
Our engineering technology assures our fixtures include EPA WaterSense and LEED standards to give the highest flow rates for the highest efficiency without compromising user comfort. For example, our commercial sensor faucets are provided with 0.35 GPM, 0.5 GPM, and 1.0 GPM flow capacity with traffic level accuracy calibration, usage pattern accuracy calibration, and compliance in plumbing systems.
But we don’t go this far. We utilize laminar flow aerators only in offering splash-free clean water supply and partner with facility designers by our engineers to offer compatibility between plumbing capacity and utility saving requirements and flow rate requirements.
The result? Frictionless hand washing or flushing experience according to environmental stewardship without any compromise on operation or user comfort.
Power Sources: Smart Energy Solutions for Every Use
A touchless unit is no better than the power that it is supplied with. At Fontana, we offer flexible power options to suit any installation situation, from standalone park restroom facilities to luxury hotels.
We offer three fundamental types of power:
- Hardwired AC Power – Ideal for new building and high-traffic installations. These are products that offer uptime guarantee and can be interfaced with central power management systems.
- Battery Power – A dependable alternative for retrofitting or where advantageous electrical accessibility is an issue. Fontana fittings typically utilize standard AA or lithium batteries with 3–5-year lifetimes based on application.
- Hybrid Solutions – Our newest products have double power capacity, alternating between battery backup and AC to ensure uninterrupted operation.
Fontana builders also include low-consumption microcontrollers and sensors, power efficiency and lifespan as a consideration as well. And one couple even have solar-assist modules, that added energy independence dividend for green-builders.
